Credit Resolution resolved disputes between law firms and their sophisticated clientele using creative recovery solutions after evaluating the ‘real’ reason for non-payment of the obligation
Credit Resolution was the first collection agency to serve law firms in the United States since the early 1990′s.
Richard Ackermann founded Credit Resolution in 1986, and along with Milton Gelman created an accounts receivable recovery model to collect unpaid billings for major law firms in 1990.
Ackermann was featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Newsday, the Philadelphia Inquirer, the Kiplinger Newsletter and many other important publications.

Background and Preparation
The collection process begins with a polite letter to the obligor. But before the first telephone call is made to the obligor, our collection department devotes the necessary time to review the background and documentation supporting your firm’s accounts receivable billing.
Credit reports are generated; we do our “homework”. We expend the time, money, and effort necessary to maximize recovery. This process includes a thorough review of The Detailed Billing Report (DBR) — Line-by-line
- Other relevant correspondence regarding the nature of the services, and the terms of compensation
- Further correspondence regarding any complaints or disputes regarding the services performed and/or the detailed billing report/memorandum
After in-depth study and research, Credit Resolution is thoroughly prepared for virtually any defense — real or imagined — that the obligor may raise in response to our demand.
Judgment Collection on a Contingency Basis
Judgments are the outcome of at times long protracted litigation lasting years or even decades, most collection agencies cannot effect collection on judgments unless the pickings are like ripe fruit from a tree.
Credit Resolution works hard to turn useless judgment paper which often sits in file folders for years yielding no revenue into money. Our creative skip tracing, asset discovery and recovery systems produce results and help turn judgments into positive cash flow for our clients’ bottom line.
Credit Resolution offers judgment collection services to landlords who customarily are glad to recover possession of their property without concentrating on recovery of past due rent bills.
Credit Resolution worked with Olympia & York Properties, the largest landlord in the United States for many years recovering unpaid rent bills without the need for litigation, and on judgment collections when required, Credit Resolution offers post judgment collection services to small claims creditors in New York.
Submit judgments to us via email, PDF, facsimile or regular mail. Please go to our contact page and let us know if you wish to hear from our consultants to assist you in determining the viability of pursuing a claim or judgment. There is no obligation for our consultation.
